My cat died about half an hour ago. It wasn't unexpected; she had a giant tumor under her armpit that had already started going through her skin and she spent more time than usual lying around. She'd also not been on my parents' bed for weeks after being there for years. She stopped sleeping on my bed freshman year of high school when I rolled over on her in my sleep.
How ironic is it that she died at the foot of my bed? Also, before I left to stay with my fiancée for the week, I'd told her not to die without me around. Where did she go? My room. She died in my room.
She's going to be buried in our back yard near the lilac bush. We have sand from a mandala made by monks when they came through that is supposed to be used for this purpose; to allow an animal a chance for human rebirth, if you believe in reincarnation.
So, without further ado,

Why didn't you just put it down when you realized it had a tumor which it WOULD NOT LIVE THROUGH?
ReplyDeleteSucks the cat died and that you almost killed it in your sleep once. Hope it enjoys the ceremony you do for it and that the animal is granted said reincarnation.
We were planning on it, actually.
ReplyDeleteAnd sarcasm like that is a little mean, actually. Suggesting someone almost killed someone else right after said someone else dies is never really funny.
There was no sarcasm or intention to be funny. There was only a comment on the situation.
ReplyDeleteIt is NEVER fun to lose a pet or loved one in any manner.
